Ruth Roman was born on June 22nd, 1939, at Lynn Massachusetts. Ruth Roman is the eldest child of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. When she was a young girl, Roman's carnival-barker father died, which made her mother Mary Pauline (Gold) to be cleaner or waitress so that they could remain alive. Ruth was born in a poor neighborhood of Boston Massachusetts where she attended high school. After only two school years she left for the acting career. The path she chose did not come without challenges. When she was in New York, her first assignment was to shoot stills for crime magazines. her dream of performing in the theater she wanted eluded. After that, she was an hat-checker at an evening club, before deciding to call her quits and relocating to Boston. In Boston, she worked to make ends meet with her ushering duties in the morning, while at night performing in the New England Repertory Company, her first steady acting job. She has also completed her studies at Bishop-Lee Theatre School, where she studied drama.
